Our Mission

Our Vision

We are committed to creating a community of learners, working together in a safe and challenging learning environment that encourages dignity, enthusiasm, and involvement, independence and responsibility through high expectations and cooperation resulting in life-long learning and personal growth.
The vision of the Meade High School's Homeland Security Signature Program is to advance civic responsibility and social accountability through effective integration of academic instruction, research, and community engagement.
A Signature is a theme, chosen by a school and its surrounding community, to connect classroom instruction with real-world situations and workforce relevant skills. A Signature brings together educators with local business and community leaders to make classroom instruction relevant, interesting and challenging for students. A Signature offers high school students unique thematic courses and co-curricular opportunities that connect to the 21st century workplace and may include technical, community college and/or 4-year college pathways.

My time in this program is something I will never forget. I will take this with me the rest of my life. The things that I have learned has made me realize what I want to do and type of person I want to be. My eyes have been opened to what can happen in this world. From our class everyday drills and the papers we would write about the current events always kept us involved. I am very happy I got to be a part of the Homeland Security program here at Meade. Meeting the people I have meet like an FBI agent who told me story about his job and also talking to people who helped me decide where I’'m going to college. Meet Our STEM Transition Advisor!

Mr. Sheppard works closely with Meade's Homeland Security Program, Project Lead The Way Engineering and other Career Technology Education students at Meade to help students plan for their future.

Mr. Sheppard meets with students, conducts parent information sessions, goes on field trips, does presentations, helps with program implementation, and advises students on how to access pathways to Career Technology Education programs in the high school that can lead to postsecondary opportunities and programs to enhance their career paths.

Parents and students are free to contact Mr. Sheppard with inquiries about college and career transitions. He is at Meade High School each Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday . His contact information is:
